Finally back from powder coat. Not perfect, but pretty damn good for a Flux welder, angle grinder, and calculated eyeballs. Time will tell if 14ga steel is sturdy enough for recovery on the trial.

Thanks guys! BTW, I picked up a 70lb barbell today and the bumper is at least 10lb lighter. Its MIGHT weigh 60lb. The lightest aftermarket bumper I could find was a tube style and it was 50kg, that's like 110lb.

Default Drawings?

Man I think you nailed it. I was gonna build me a monster. All my others are bone stock but that is boring. I am actually a fair hand with metal. Your build looks better than off the shelf bumpers and lots of guys have install problems. Can you share base drawings in AutoCAD format?

Man, I did zero drawings. All the angle measurements were done on the spot and we're really just for side to side duplication.

I have Autocad at home, Ive considered taking a bunch of measurements and attempting to render it up but I can't promise any kind of punctuality lol.

If I had a big heavy fab table and had designed in CAD beforehand, I could have put it together in less time and with less defects. But sense I didn't have access to anything even remotely flat to clamp the work to, and no gas shielded welder...and no precision cutting devises, I just winged it lol.

At the very least, I can give you the dimensions and angles of the main hoop. From that point it was all pretty much point and tack.

Old style BFG's? Do they still sell them?
