Default Thinking about this aluminum power steering reservoir...

But wondering about the lack of a filter screen. Or at least no mention of one. Big deal to not have one?

Long as you're not using recycled fluid with grime and debris in it, no filter is just fine. None of my other vehicles have one.

Actually, not sure if my disco has one for the PS fluid.

Well these seem fun.

Will that glass seal will leak as fast as an original plastic tank? Mine with ACE is 23 years on no leaking although I did have to replace the ACE cap this year.

Also this is the company who makes a heck of an impressive coolant expansion tank with a cap that is -- according to reviews -- useless and prone to failure. So not sure if this has the same design if it improves anything.

I think the coolant reservoirs leaked because the glass could crack. I'm not sure if that's due to the coolant temperature, rough road conditions or what, but my allisport with a blanking plate (a piece of aluminum in place of the glass) doesn't leak a drop. I just take the cap off to check the level. You could do the same with the PS reservoir. It takes no time to just remove the cap and check that way.

What they really need to do is make the site glass from the borosilicate that pyrex is made from. that stuff is super hardy.

I had one leak on the 2002, and in looking for a replacement, just realized there aren't anymore new ones available (non-ACE). So if faced with buying a used one or this one, might just opt for the upgrade. Still undecided.

Buddy has the smaller one for a classic. Looks sharp and haven't heard any complaints about it over the past few years he's had it.
