Default Thinking about buying a Discover II

Hello— I am considering buying a 03 Discovery 2. Attached is the work the current owner HS done and a couple photos. What would you say I should pay for this and what expenses would you say I’m in for over the next 5 years. Appreciate any advice

“This Rover does not leak anything.”...
Said no real Land Rover owner ever.
It does look good on paper though.

Why do you have the D2 in question as your profile photo? You haven't even bought it yet?

The whole purpose of me posting this was to get some experienced advice. I can buy it for $12k. With the condition and work done to it I thought I could get an educated opinion.

$8,000 tops with a full tank of gas, PPI done, proof of work done and a coke. And not a daily driver vehicle.

I agree. $8K max if everything checks out. Ask yourself "why is this guy selling it after doing all these repairs?" I doubt it's really in that great of condition. Get under it and look at the frame!!!

Even if its perfect, expect $2k in repairs within 12 months after you buy it.

You've still be better off picking up a $5k 2004 and spending the $2k to get it solid.

12k or 14k is just crazy for these trucks. You will regret spending so much for a truck that will need maintenance like these trucks need. If you cant swing a wrench just forget about a disco, they just cost too much to keep on the road if you plan on paying someone to keep it running.
