Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and Land Rovers though not 4x4's and offroading. Anyway, in the next 2-4 months I'm looking at getting an '04 Disco since that's the last build year and they have the center locker on them. I'm wondering what I should look for when test driving one. What sorts of noises, rattles, etc would be normal vs a sign of a potential problem. I'm the type who will get on his back and crawl underneath it too looking for signs of leaks repaired damage, etc. Anything in particular to look or listen for under the hood, the axles, tranny, xfer case, etc., common issues with Disco's in general or specifically 04's? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

look for leaks...btw you can get a '99-mid '01 for half the price of a '04 and add CDL for $30-$100...I picked up a shifter at the junk yard for $30
