Default Thoughts on reusing the oil pan gasket? Hear me out...

I just replaced the oil pan gasket a couple weeks ago to shore up a small leak. The crucifix seals looked OK so instead of replacing them I decided to roll the dice and see if just the oil pan gasket alone would do it. Still have a small leak between the oil pan and the bell housing, so clearly didn't do it.

If I drop the pan in the next few weeks to replace the crucifix seals, what do we all think about reusing the new oil pan gasket?

Side question - I happened to remove the Y-pipe when replacing the oil pan gasket to install some stainless studs while I was in there, but would prefer not to remove it again since it's all sealed up and *finally* leak free. How's the oil pan/crucifix removal with the Y-pipe in place? I replaced the front three oil pan studs with bolts, so looking forward to that being MUCH easier to deal with.

Sure, go ahead and reuse it with no problem. I like to skim coat it with a thin coat of RTV silicone. As far as getting the oil pan off without dropping the Y pipe that should be no problem but you're probably going to have to check the truck up so the suspension is at full droop and remove the front crossmember.
