Everything going back together all clockwork, doing up the three underside screws. Then the unit falls off the bit off wood it's sitting on and bangs this little bugger and it snaps off.
I assume that means I just killed the whole unit. Am I right?
And the what gets me. I could have put the front back on before I did the bottom bit. Then it would have been fine. But I was reversing the uninstall...

I don't know what that plunger does, but if it's plastic, it probably doesn't see super high pressure. And if you compare the location to the shuttle valve assembly, it doesn't look like they actually "do" anything during normal operation. Looks like they live here...
Pump the brakes and see if you're losing any fluid. If not, you may be ok.
Or you could lose the pedal randomly and crash into a busload of nuns, so be careful. In fact, if that happens, I specifically said that you would NOT be ok. For the record.
Not plastic. Steel. Hard steel (hence its ability to snap so easily). Holds spring pressure against something or other.
But thank you, and the nuns thank you.
Hmmm.
When its assembled that spring is tight against the front plate. Is there a chance thats just there to locate and hold the spring during assembly?!,
That I could work with.
Unless it stops whatever is inside that hole from going in deeper... unfortunately its a bit of a magic box to me. No real idea whats going on in there.
Did a shuttle valve fix .. I want to buy a new WABCO unit .. but I'll be dammed if I'm spending $3,000 on that part .. especially when they don't have a guarantee it won't come back ..
