When mine came on @ 130K, I bought the Atlantic British kit and replaced the shuttle valves.
Kit was $65 + shipping (multiple item order - go figure with a rover...) and took about 45 minutes to do the swap. I did it WITHOUT removing the modulator, which is OK if you have skinny fingers and some patience. I used the jycsalas link on his website.
No amigos. at. all.
It was, in essence, a $65 gamble, but let's be honest, I've gambled far more on far dumber (and blonder) things in the past. If you're gonna dive in there, I'd just swap it and be done with the deed.
IMHO, they're gonna fail sooner or later, and I like to do the easiest/cheapest things first. So I started with a job that can be done at waist level, with minimal tools, and a place to put my beer.....
