Default Three Amigos ? on / off ?

Hi all I have a 2003 DII Been working on a few little issues, here is the newest one...

I live in TN and my Disco sleeps in the Garage, Two times I have gotten in , started her up and sounds good, idles great, press my foot on the brake, and the Three yellow Amigos ( ABS, TC, DHA) appear. I drive to work park in the lot, 9 hours later go out and start up and no yellow lights.

After the first time I changed the brake pads, (ebc pads) rotors looked ok for now.. I changed most of the brake fluid out, went from a nasty dark yellow to a not really clear but kind of a yellowish tint, (2 bottles flushed through).

Today was the second time, she runs good, no real difference in driving with the lights on, but I really hate those little guys any suggestions? I was going to have her plugged into a scan tool if they stayed on but they haven't....

Thanks...

Doug

Hey hows it going............ if you do a search on the "three amigos" then you can find a lot of information regarding the subject.

That being said I shall try to shed some light on the situation for you. Basically, there can be any number of things wrong with the ABS system spanning from as little as a dirty brake speed sensor (you said you have aftermarket pads so sometimes this causes this) to as major as a faulty ABS module. Anyway, one rampant, annoying problem is for the shuttle valve to have a problem. To test this, what you want to do is go and do an emergency stop at about 30 miles an hour with the three amigo lights on. If you feel the ABS system kick in, even while the three amigo lights are on, then you have a shuttle valve problem. If you dont feel the ABS system kick in when you do this then you have to get your codes read to find out whats going on.

PS ....... You need a special laptop scanner to have the ABS codes read not just the OB11 scanner. Also, the three amigo lights have to be on when the truck is scanned in order to find out the problem. Good luck
