throttle body bypass
My throttle body is leaking and I would prefer to just bypass it since I don't use the vehicle in cold weather and it is the second time in two years (10,000 miles apart) that it leaks. I would like to know which is the best way to bypass it. I have read on this forum that there are two ways to bypass it. One is to join the two hoses with a short copper pipe and the other is to eliminate the short hose and connect the longer hose to the plastic pipe. I would like to know which one is better or if there is another more reliable or practical way. On a side note the coolant was replaced when the throttle body was replace so I don't know why it lasted so little.
Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions.

i took a bolt and inserted it into the hose coming from the expansion tank and used a hose clamp...... same thing for the intake manifold side...

Thanks Mike, soon after I purchased the truck, 2-3 years ago, I had the 60k service done and have been on top of all of the maintenance requirements so I was not expecting to have to deal with the throttle body so often but the more I read the more that I become aware that they are a common problem.
