Default Timing chain gasket leak??

Got my head gasket's job done, witch was a pain in my **** for a week.. And after I filled up the coolant, it was laying under the front of the truck in the morning.. So the shop guy said when I picked up the truck after he gave it a once over following my personal head work.. I am losing coolant but not nearly what he made it out to be and he said it was most likely timing chain cover gasket.. Is that a tough fix?? Pull the fan and dig in or do the radiators have to come out??

What year and mileage? I just did my D1 last year. You have to pull the crank pulley and water pump. Radiator stayed in. You will have to drop the pan to hold the crank when you re-torque the crank pulley. I would have the system perssure tested and make sure that is where it is leaking. Have you replaced the throttle body heater (D2) ? most common place to get a leak.

It's an 04 D2 with 107k.. I have not pinpointed the leak or really had the desire to in this cold weather we have had but now were back into the 60's so there goes the only excuse I had not to get my hands dirty.. I'll try to hunt it down.. I don't get the waterfall noise inside the truck, no water on the floor in the truck so I am assuming its either what the guy told me or what you suggested.. Where is the heater thing you talking about.. Up on the throttle body?

The front cover is fairly easy and inexpensive, do the water pump gasket too while you are in there.

Did mine about a month ago, not too bad. Follow the steps in the rave manual and you should be OK. Got stumped on a few things but figured them out. Clean your engine up good and through some coolant dye in your reservoir. Run your truck and you should be able to see where your lead is coming from. If you have a black light it will spot it right away but pretty visible without it. Got some dye at carquest for $4.

Oh yea, 60's would be like a heat wave here right now. Did mine in about 30 degrees, with a little propane heater..........

Good Luck!
