Default Timing Cover Removal

Hey I removed the timing gear cover and there a metal tube looks like a bolt spacer laying in the oil pan after i removed the timing cover does anybody know where this spacer is supposed to go I don't see anything about it in the RAVE workshop manual thanks

Pictures would help, the only thing resembling what you describe is the spacer that takes up the space where the ACE pump is located on vehicles without ACE. It holds the serpentine belt cover in place. But this is only supposition on my part without seeing what you're talking about.

As stated above, it does look like the spacer that is used on the serpentine belt cover that goes over the a/c compressor. I wonder how it got in your oil pan....

If you have the ACE system, you will have 2 caps on your power steering reservoir, if only 1 then you don't and you will also have the spacer for the guard.
