Default tire and lift qustions again

I have the ome lift, i think it might be the 2 or 1.75 inch i have seen bigger ome lift or are the same as i have but with spacers!!
Tires-- im running the 265-75-16(31 inch)but want to go to 255-85-16(33inch) what do you guys think will I have to change my gears what else will ihave to look for because my buddy has a d1 with 33-10.50-16 tsl super swompers and seem to run great

First of all, do you have a CDL t/case?
You will kill your gas mileage, you have already lost about 1.5 MPG going to the 265's, if you go larger, you will loose more and really have a drop in low end power. If you don't have a CDL, although you may want to go to gears and possibly lockers, it will help a little but you weak factory diff carrier won't hold up.
If you are planning on making some serious mods, you will have to make the big financial plunge.
