Default Tires/Lift not sure on game plan

First off I have a 2001 D2 SD. The measurements from the wheel center to the arch are: Front Left 18.5", all other 19". That puts me at pretty close to stock even with 14 year old springs. 16" alloy rims currently with 255/65/16 street tires. Front drive shaft has been replaced and gets greased every oil change.

I did search and this thread was very helpful, but several posts in it, and on other threads said the 245's rubbed - but maybe their springs had sagged even more? https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ation-s-49287/

I was not planning on putting a lift on, keeping it a family camping vehicle that can still do some moderate 4x4ing when the need arises - basically what LR designed it for. I do want to put some all terrains on however (when the KO2s come out), and had hoped to add an inch by using 245/75/16.

Given the measurements I provided, will those fit OK underneath or am I looking to do a lift in the near future because of sagging springs? If I "had" to do a lift, can I fit the tires with minimal rubbing until I can get new springs? Tires > lift IMO (and will need new tires in Jan or so).

I have read about the Camel Cut, but is that for DIs only? Not really wanting to cut anything.

I have also read about an OME spring that will give the same height as stock, but is also suitable for a HD bumper/winch if I choose to go that route in the future. Has anyone used those and been happy with them? I am sure I would get half an inch or so of "lift" due to new springs, but would that still give issues for the larger 245 tire?

Thanks all!

You should be fine with 245/75/16's on the stock suspension. I had BFG KM2's in that size on my stock suspension briefly, and had no issues. I've since switched over to the OME HD setup, which in my opinion is too stiff for anything but towing...which is why I have it.

Hope that helps.

i have 245x75x16 tires with OME spring med spring, a TF bumper and a SD roof rack, no winch I got about 3/4 inch lift.

the ride is fair, no where near stock. I would not go HD unless it was going sprictly off road
