yes if I remember correctly W0's were the only model they made the 6" in. They have now replaced the W0 line with the W1 line and only offer a 6" sub in the W3 line which if 2 of those would fit would be great since I am considering going with a 12W3 for my sub box! otherwise I will try to find 2 older 6W0's. But there again between the sub box materials and a new sub my expense allowance for this project will be all used up, so replacing the stock subs is a possibility down the road.

my next project may be that sub box. so i got the nav and sat radio all installed yesterday. works great. one thing though...have you heard of a problem between the blackbird and the iva-w200 where the first two words of the voice prompt gets cut off? everytime the girl chimes in with a turn it starts with "a head" instead of "right turn a head" sounded funny at first, but nows its down right annoying!!

not sure I would double check all settings on both units (I doubt alpine would let an issue like that go without offering an update for the blackbird or something). I would call alpine tech support tomorrow morning for a quick and easy answer.

I applied 2 more layers to one side of the box so far today, I will most likely try to get 2 layers on all the sides today however I have to give about 1.5 hours curing time between sides. now when I say sides I mean (from the inside) the back which it is lying on, the walls on each side, the very botom, and between each side and the bottom. There are quite a few air bubbles, which it is a good idea to get out, however since I am just doing this to save some room and am not planning on competing with this box, I am cutting a few corners and just building it a little thicker. I will try to get some pics of it propped up on a few of the other sides for you guys later today.

trimmed in the truck

http://img23.imageshack.us/my.php?im...erringsze9.jpg

http://img127.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ogetherox1.jpg

the rings together

http://img127.imageshack.us/my.php?i...gstandsyo3.jpg

the stands mounted to the rings (this will hold the rings in the air to form structure to the box)

here is the rings mounted in the mold (in the truck)

http://img293.imageshack.us/my.php?i...retchedmw6.jpg

the fleece stretched over the mold and rings

http://img24.imageshack.us/my.php?im...glassedii6.jpg

the fleece getting glassed (those small hands are my 13 year old daughter, I am letting her help me)

http://img156.imageshack.us/my.php?i...glassedsu2.jpg

the fleece all glassed

http://img156.imageshack.us/my.php?i...fromtoplm8.jpg

the fleece all glassed from the top (here you can see the "top" of the box where it will be flush with the top of the rear panel. won't be perfect but it will be close enough for me)

That doesn't look like there's any glass mat on the fleece? Is that how its supposed to be or is it just the pic? It looks like just resin and fleece to me

yes you are absolutely correct, I will let that dry tonight and then apply about 4 layers of fiberglass matte (and cloth I am using both) I use fleece because it is thick and absorbs a lot of resin. that alone will be a good thick layer. I will alos cut out the middle and apply a nice coat of resin along the inside seams of the front and back sides of the box as well as reinforce my sub rings.
