I would love to get an off road bumper, I know some of them come with a washer fluid bottle relocation kit that moves it to a different area, one location is against the firewall next to the fuse box if it does not have SAI, the other location I am not sure of. I also have the Hurricane 18s with stock suspension It may be an illusion from pictures I have seen of the 16s but the approach seem to be better. All I know is I have a bumper when I get home, others not so much. I took this picture last year and it made me realize how close I was.
Looks like loads a room to me.........this is how close you can get !! im on 18"s with stock suspension to

They're Bilsteins, I think maybe the 7000 series or whatever their high end ones are. You can read the whole build (and all of their builds) here http://eastcoastrover.com/168.html

All of the things that you have replaced would not have been caused by off roading or that the vehicle cannot take abuse. The springs sound a little weird to me why they needed to be replaced and why only replace each only on one side. The 60K service, was that done just for convenience or did it not run because it needed the service. The brakes could be your driving style, who knows.
I say go wheeling in it, you will have body damage, more service of diffs and hubs and maybe a broken part if you hammer it. Otherwise it will do you just fine. Maybe it is acting up becasue you are holding it back from what it was built for.
