Default Took a chance new OBDII that works!

So after reading the many posts here on what OBDII scanners work the best etc. I decided to try one that wasn't on the list so I could do an ABS bleed... I picked up the Vident 702pro ... and tell you what it worked great.. Not only was it landrover compatible it did the job without needing a freaking masters degree to figure out the unit. I still haven't went through all the features in it as of yet but it seems to do the trick and didn't cost me an arm and leg to get it.

You can power bleed a D2 without anything fancy. Just remove the ABS pump relay, insert a pair of wires onto a toggle switch. I carry that setup in my trail box just in case.

Nice to hear of another scantool which is LR compatible though!

Sure thing I will... will try to take some video of it in use so you can all see the menu options etc.

Might have spoken too soon... when I first plugged the unit in it worked fine... had to manually enter my vehicle but it was there.... did the software update and now I can't get the ABS bleed to come back up with my vehicle... sent a ticket into support but I have a feeling I will be sending this one back. What good is a unit if the update eliminates the vehicle you want it for...lol

For what it's worth, you can use the ABS pump to bleed brakes without getting any kind of OBDII connector - just wire up the relay directly.

So after a bit of back and forth with the Vident Tech support .. who were quick to try and help solve the problem ... I figured it out on my own. When I did the first update it was just for the Landrover ABS & SRS section... well what I figured out was that the new updates are segmented.. So if you only download just one part of the update and not the rest, the program is then incomplete and will not run. So after downloading the rest of the updates the system is now back up and running as it should.

Redwhitekat.... There is a gearbox section in there and has a learn function but that is as far as I got with that particular option... so I can not fully answer that question for you.
