Torsion Bar Bushings
I got new ones from AB and I'm going to install them this weekend. It looks pretty straightforward, 2 bolts each, do them one at a time, etc. but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks. One thing I don't see in the shop manual is a recommended torque. Any ideas?
33 lbf.ft on the bolts
Drop both plates to lower bar, swap bushings, put plate on bushings, lift bar and rotate plates back into position, get each bolt started to hold plate/bar into position then torque to 33 lbf.ft.
Do NOT grease bushings, they're "silent bushings" and the rubber is designed to twist.

That is the reason I posted that question, why should we have to guess when people use incorrect terms? Who is to say what he is doing, but as I mentioned Disco's with or without ACE have no torsion bars.
Truly not trying to be argumentative or disrespectful but by it's very design the ACE bar is a torsion bar. Granted, the application is not typical of a torsion bar and is that of an active anti-roll bar but the bar itself is a torsion bar. I took the OPs use of "torsion bar" to mean that he was being very specific and letting us know his vehicle is ACE equipped.
The ACE system is just a much thicker set of "SWAY BARS", not torsion bars and yes I see what you are saying.
My whole reason for posting my reply is that so many people don't know what parts are called and then expect us to understand and reply.

Actually Disco Mike I'm calling you out on this one brother, the RAVE manual which you yourself told me to download a year ago (and I read religiously, though I missed the torque spec somehow) calls them torsion bars on an ACE equipped Discovery II, hence I called them torsion bars. Interestingly on an non-ACE equipped vehicle they are called anti-roll bars. At no point does the RAVE call them sway bars. Granted AB calls them sway bar bushings but I went with what the RAVE called them for clarity. No guessing required.
I see the torque spec now, thanks a lot.
