Default towing a discovery 2

Has anyone ever towed a discovery 2 behind a larger vehicle?? If so please advise as to what kind of trailer you have used. I have 2 options. 1 is remove the rear drive shaft and tow on a front wheel dolly, or 2. put it up on a flat bed trailer. If anyone has done this, where are you renting your trailers from??- Uhaul front wheel trailer only holds 3900 Lbs ???? help

First, check with the rental company, they have weight restrictions on the dollies and probably won't let you use that option.

Budget wont rent you a trailer or dolly unless you rent one of their trucks too.
Ryder does not rent dollies or trailers anymore.
You are very limited in your options.
Are you moving or are you towing it behind a motor home?
A tow bar may be your only option without dropping big bucks.

I used U-haul's trailer to tow mine from Atlanta to Fayetteville, NC (about a 6 hour drive). They won't let you rent it though if you tell them you are going to tow your discovery. I just told them I was towing a toyota corolla. This puts all of the liability on your shoulders but I was towing with a 98 suburban and it did fine. Just drive slow. I wouldn't recommend a tow dolly, the disco is just too heavy.

Yes you can use a tow bar, just make sure that the transfer case is in neutral and the parking brake is off and then you can tow it as far as you want.
As far as where to get a tow bar...Google "tow bar".
Then contact the different manufactures of them and see who offers what.
