OK, have another issue/question. My TC is acting weird. It used to lock the wheels when they spun. I tried a ditch today that was a cake walk, heard the buzzing, but no wheel lock. any ideas?

wet brakes, cheap pads, rusty caliper slides, the brakes have to be perfect for TC to be effective.

 

3 Amigo's on?
No Traction Control.

 

Negative on the 3 amigo's, I let the truck sit for almost 2 mos with the PS pump issue. Now, driving it yesterday, no go on TC. Weird... Ok, looked over the RAVE manual, and couldn't figure out what I needed to check or replace. It sounds like the brake pump is working to do the brakes to lock the wheels, but the wheels are not locking up with the brakes., neither rear nor front...

 

I have also noticed that the brake pedal, now that you mention it, is a little soft. might have to check that issue too...

 

The traction control is usually not going to lock up the wheel but, function more like an electric lsd. If the car sat that long the caliper slides, pistons could have rusted. Also, a hub leak can coat the pads.

 

When is the last time you changed or bled the brake fluid? Soft pedal and ineffective TC could be symptoms of needing a fluid change.
