Default Traction Control noises

Hi Guys,

Well, I finally managed to get my Disco II into the bush on the weekend when I went camping in the Chichester State Forest in New South Wales. The whole car seemed to come alive and was a totally different vehicle to the work hack that I drive each day. However, I have aquery that hopefully, some of the guys on the forum might be able to help with.

Basically, it's the traction control,in some of the rough stuff, the TC light comes on for a few seconds as it describes in the Owner's Manual, but it also makes loud whirring noises at the same time - is this normal or is it indicative of something wrong?

cheers

Andrew

Yep, completely normal, what your hearing is the ABS pump, pumping the fluid to brake the spinning wheel to givetraction backto the other side.

What year model is your Disco? I installed a center differential (transfer case) lock handle and removed the sway bars. After this my traction control does not need to work as hard anymore.

Cheers,

Pete
