Default Traction control witchcraft

Six months ago , I had the shop repair my shuttle valve . And corresponding switch . I have been "Three Amigo " free for quite some time . So my question is this . When four wheeling in 4 low , and a single tire loses grip and spins freely , what is the required RPM of that tire to stop spinning , and Traction Control to kick in ?? I didn't want to wait , so I backed up and charged the obstacle . Am I going too fast ?? Too slow ?? What is the proper way to address this scenario ? Otherwise , when Overlanding on rough roads , my Discovery 2 did very well .

Not much the traction control light will come on as wheels start to slip. The trick is to keep constant throttle, a simple test is to find an easy obstacle, a short steep uphill with loose gravel. Start nice and slow in 4 low 1st gear and have someone watch as you try the hill. Your tc light should illuminate as the tires slip, then finally brake the tires as required. It does a few seconds to kick in.

To much throttle will tend override the braking. You can try a steep downhill and engage hill descent as well, you should get controlled braking if not you have a problem. This requires 4 low too.

Richard , as my front left tire was spinning , I did not see any TC light . I was a little heavy on the throttle , I admit . Not too many places besides Browns camp , that I can find a graveled incline .

@Tomzsix That does not sound right, if I punch the throttle on gravel I can get my TC light to come on. But my ABS module is bone stock.
