Trailer lighting adaptor question
Do I have to buy a special trailer lighting adaptor from the dealership for my DII or is there a compatible one I can purchase at Autozone/Walmart/etc?
I am extremely busy at work and have 3 hrs until I'm picking up a trailer for debris disposal from the storm recovery here... I'd do my homework myself, but thought someone on here might know. Thanks!

I went through this myself.
Land Rover Discovery II Trailer Wiring Kit - Order Trailer Wiring Kits & Other Land Rover Parts At RoverParts.com
You can get a generic wiring adapter and cut your wires and splice it in, but the AB one is plug and play.
Here are instructions for a generic adapter

I see you're in Bham too. I rented a trailer from the U-Haul in Vestavia and they spliced in one of their kits. I can't remember how much it was, but it wasn't very expensive. The only problem is that place runs with less efficiency than a DMV and if you've only got three hours, you might be pressing it, but I'd try and give them a call.
Whatever you do (splice or plug type), pull the connecter back through the grommet behind the right rear tail light and into the blank space by the storage bin. There are some threads posted where wiring problems have developed following this mod when it gets wet. Silicone will reseal the grommet after you cut it to pull the harness through.
Tom Williams Land Rover wanted $280 and it would have to be ordered... none in stock. The 4-to-7 pin adapter was $50 and would be on back order.
What a freakin' scam.
Splicing a $28 universal 4/7 pin connector from U-Haul was the way to go.

Well, pulling the loom back through to keep it dry is good precaution. It takes five minutes and eliminates the potential for most issues. Thanks for the constructive comment...
Doing it properly eliminates all connector wiring issues, short of backing in to something and smashing your bumper. In which case your trailer connector is the least of your worries.
As for which European-to-US adapter to use, I'm not impressed by the Rover one.
