I need to wire up the connections for a trailer as well. I've searched for a while and attempted to find information in the RAVE manual, but I've been unable to find the information I'm looking for.

There's a 7-pin connector behind the right tail light that contains the connections necessary to hook up a trailer's lighting to the vehicle lighting. From what I can find, the wire colors are coordinated as follows:

Right Turn: GREEN with WHITE Stripe
Left Turn: GREEN with RED Stripe
Tail/Park: RED with ORANGE Stripe
Brake: GREEN With PURPLE Stripe
Ground: BLACK WIRE

Well, that covers 5 of the 7 leads, so what do the other two do? I'm connecting the LR wiring to a 7 blade circular type receptacle (I have plans to use a brake controller in the future and I like the 7 blade receptacle much better than the flat four connector), so I'd like to do this right the first time.

Anyone know what the two other leads are for?

 

I just shut my eyes and gritted my teeth and dropped the $200.00 at the dealership because I was in a hurry. It was a snap to install though.

 

Luckily, I'm in no immediate hurry. Plus, doesn't the dealer harness come with the Euro style 7 point receptacle? It doesn't make any sense to buy a $200 harness when I'm gonna cut the end off of it to replace it.

No one knows what the two extra wires are for?

 

It does come with a flat 4 adapterm if that helps.
