Trailer wiring (question #34576)
hey everyone, newbie here.
After reading through almost every single trailer thread I'm still a little unsure of something, so before I cut I've decided to ask.
I'm replacing the 4 flat connector on the AB wiring adapter with a 5 flat. My trailer has surge brakes and needs the additional wire from the reverse light to disable the brakes when backing up. As shown below, there are two extra wires, one of which carries current when the car is put in reverse (I tested with meter). I'm about to splice it into the wiring harness, any words of warning before I do so?
Thanks in advance,

The Rover comes wired for trailers with backup lights. One of the single wires is for your reverse lights and the other is the charge line for trailers with batteries. It sounds like you have already figured out which wire you need to disable your surge brakes. Extend that wire to your 5 pin plug and just match up the others with the wires from the 4 pin. Theoretically it should be pretty simple. I wired a 7 pin connector on my 97.
