Rave says 19.7pt (10 qt) to refill trans from dry..
How much does it take to do a drain and re-fill??

Um, until it's full.

I think it is 6 quarts, buy extra, you can return what you do not need.

Also, at my shop we have a chevron md 3atf fluid that says it's for all pre 2006 trannys that use dexron III ormercon fluids.

The reason I ask, is because it's basically free to me. Any doubts, and i'll stick to regular dexron III, thanks for any imput.

I have no idea if that fluid will work or not.
If you try it and you are wrong, you are out $7,000. If it works then you saved $20.
Your call.
