Default Tranny Line Leak? Suggestions

Hello All,

Looks like the lower tranny cooler line has a very slight leak (quater size spot over night). The area I feelthat is leakingis at the quick disconnect to the lower cooler.

Could there be a simple fix?
Could the internal O-ring on the quick disconnect just be replaced to repair the problem?
Or does the entire line need replacement?

Thanks,

Nick

Replace the complete line, look at Atlantic British for the replacement lines.
This is the seconded biggest cause for engine fires, so yes, it is important.
Plan on replacing as much fluid as well as the filter when replacing the line.
By the way, this is your only option.

Thanks Mike.

Just curious, has anyone tried to replace the internal o-ring on the quick dissconnect?

Thanks,
Nick

Was just at Atlantic British, and noticed they sell a "oil cooler pipe O ring"Item: ESR1594L

Would this be the internal o-ring?

Most times its not the O-ring its the line.
The O-ring does not move and the tran's line has to put up with vibration from the moving truck, so the line next to the metal compression fitting that holds the line on is what leaks most of the time.

Well here is digging up and old post :-)

Sad news, I sold my beloved DII back in August, but the good news:
NO line leak for for better than a year!!! (still not leaking when she left)

So what fixed it? About two bucks for O-rings.

I replaced the two internal O-rings on the lower quick disconnect line.
Figured it was worth a try, considering I was going to trow them out when replaced.

O-ring size:
ID: 9/16
OD: 3/4
O-ring thickness: 3/32

Hope this helps someone else, very easy and inexpensive fix.

Regards,

Nick
