Default Dropping the tranny Saturday any suggestions?

My buddy that owns a tranny shop said I could drop the tranny in my 99' Disco 2 this Saturday. That way I'll have the unit on his bench Monday morning for rebuild. With that, neither I or his R/R guy have pulled a Land Rover tranny. I've got the RAVE that I could study. Does anyone have pointers or suggestions? I did a search and don't see a play by play on the forum.

Thanks in advance for the help!

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-filter-34270/ is the write up on tranny filter change, with photos, from the tech section. So it shows how exhaust pipes and cross members can be in the way, what valve body looks like, etc.

Main question would be what beer he likes, the Disco should be able to haul several cases of it.

Also, take RAVE on a USB drive so he can have a copy as well. It also has sections on the tranny internals.

Thanks for the reply. I dropped the pan and did the filter this week. Once the units out, the main tranny tech knows the unit. The biggest thing is knowing what to unbolt, unhook, etc. I'll print that chapter from the RAVE...

Dropped the tranny today. Not to bad when your with a person who does it for a living.

Can't wait to see what's wrong inside. Hope it's just the clutches...
