A friend of mine has a 1995 Disco 5speed that he is building into a rock/trail toy . He has access to a 1998 Auto for real cheap and he would prefer the auto over the stick for crawling. My question is 1998 tranny a ECM controled or is controled by a kickdown cable?

 

95% sure it's cable controlled but I could be wrong. What's he doing with the 5 speed? I call dibs on it.

 

Cable, only D2's have the ECU.
