Default Transfer Case cover seal question

So I started to take the covers off my spare TC since the one on the car is leaking badly now. I plan to reseal this one and swap it out. I noticed the input bearing housing doesn't have a gasket. Which makes sense because it has the bearing track housed in it. My question is why doesn't it leak?

That's a good question. I see kits for sale with gaskets to go there. Other people us The Right Stuff.

Yeah, My gasket kit has two of those gaskets, assuming one for the cover the other the housing. My spare did not have it and it looks like the one under my driver is gasket free as well between the case and housing.
