Default Transfer Case/Differencial lock/unlock audible warning on all the time

96 Disco, 175k miles (this post is made after many searches on the subject)

OK, So one day out of the blue the audible diff lock buzzer goes on the second i push the shifter button to get it out of park.

I had been unable to shift it out of hi for a while so after studying up on the subject here and anywhere else i could find I did a minor rebuild of the transfer case and replaced the transmission interlock solenoid and the differencial lock switch.

Now i can shift it easily from hi to lo and in and out of locked position

But the buzzer is still on. Any ideas are very much appreciated

The buzzer means that the transfer case is not in gear all the way.

yup. Might try shifting more. You aren't all the way in high.

Is it possible whatever sensor triggers the buzzer is bad and if so which one is it and where is it?

i can't imagine it would be as simple as that because 2 of us have tried and tried.

With the truck in neutral, on a slight hill, try shifting from high to low and back while slightly rolling. I am sure there is a sensor, but not sure where. I'll chack for you and let you know if I find anything. Someone else might know off the top of their head and post it.

Mine had a little problem with the same thing when I got it. I just needed to spray the linkage and use it.
