This might be useful, when I try to engage my locking diff on my Disco 1 the light does not come on at all. Im hoping it is just a connection that is not connected on it

Out of curiosity, which way are you pushing the shifter? Are you saying the light doesn't come on when it is engaged?

My light didnt come on at first either. But after 6 or so engagements it started working. The gears would engage, just no light. All better now. It is one of those use it or lose it situations. And the more you use it the better it gets.

I all most bought a 95 and the transfer case linkage did move but the rivited box Disco Mike is talking about, They said you have to go in and relube in side! Thats what I was told I am not Disco Savy!

My D I is having the same problem .... I guess the previous owner never used it, so right now it's stuck in 2WD, doesn't move at all.

Since I'm not a mechanical dude, I'll take it to a friends shop and provide some of the info I got here.
