Default Transfer Case Swap

I am removing the transfer case from my parts 99 DII and will be putting it in my 03 DII. It already has the 04 shift lever. My question is will it be a straight swap or will there be any surprises? I am ready to have this DII locked.

You will have electrical issues to deal with, your t/case has a shift solenoid that will not wire into the 03 without a lot of work.
Make sure you reseal everything while open both on the t/case and tranny, also use 85/140 gear oil in the t/case.

If you've already got the 04 cdl shifter, you are good as far as the solenoid goes, it's in the shifter. Remove the one inside the 99 case.

You might have issues with nothing to plug the cdl switch into (the switch that turns the dash light on and lets the slabs know you are locked), but you can splice it into the harness if needed. There is a PDF floating around showing pictures. Landroverclubvi.com

Thank you for the response. I read the site you posted about the dash light and splicing it in. If that is all the wiring that needs to be done that is not bad at all. I am not sure what you are referring to remove out of the 99 case. The 99 case already has the 04 shifter so I should be able to completely swap everything on the 99 case in with the exception of the cdl switch? I may try and retrace where those wires go since I will be getting ride of everything on the 99 anyways.
