Default cheap key fob replacement

If everybody doesn't already know, you can get a cheap replacement key fob on ebay (just the case, not the electronics) for when your buttons wear out.

ebay seller: flyingbuyergogo
price: $9.89 (free shipping)
delivery took 9 days for me. I just tried it out and it works great.

$13.99 and an american supplier: Land Rover Discovery Key Case for Remote and uncut Key Blade New! | eBay

I tried the link you posted but got into a stupid bidding war - hate that. it was above $15.50 when I decided to look elsewhere. Bought 2. Another ridiculous LR part.

I need the little microswitch/button so I can unlock the car with the remote. Good luck to me!

Cheap and transmitter are almost mutually exclusive, the cheapest I've seen is $135 and you still have to get it programmed to your vehicle. (needs Rovacom or Testbook to do it, there may be others but I know those 2 work), Typically the programming is $100 at the dealer, half that at an independent. Just make sure to take all your transmitters since they all have to be programmed at the same time, if you leave one at home that one won't work afterwards (of course most of us can't afford a whole bunch of these things like the original owners did) I have two, one I use and the other one in case I lose the first.

Anyone care to give a brief instruction? Is it simply breaking 2 sides of the shell apart? Old glued together? Replacement shell snap together? Etc... Thanks
