Transfer case swap DII 2001 for a DII 2004
Good to know my memory of the extra solenoid on the '04 shifter was correct. If they are sending you the shifter with the case, you should be good to go, I think.
Thanks for the posts. According to my DII manual, 03 and up have the solenoid interlock and multiplug inside the shifter housing. I'm picking my transfer case up Friday afternoon but when I called them and asked them about it they said when they took it out there wasn't any plug or wiring that was attached to the shifter housing. That's when I started asking and calling around. I guess I'll find out when I pick it up Friday. I had heard that the 04 Transfer case was the easiest way to go in order to get a locking one. Where does the wire come out of the shifter assembly is what I'm wondering about. My diagram doesn't show.
Super! Thanks! What about the warning lamp switches (differential lock)? The 2001 transfer case has just one of them and a detent plug. The 2004 transfer case has two warning lamp switches and no detent plug (one of the switches is where the old detent plug would have been). Do you think the two switches should be spliced together?
