Default transmision service

Hi,
I have a 2000 landrover discovery ll with 130,000 miles. I want to do a transmission service. the tranny is working fine. I just want to do service like change oil and filter.
I cannot find an Oil stick for the tranny does any one know where it is located?
Also do you guys know if I need any special tools required to do the service?
If there is no oil stick, how do I put in the new oil after I take out the old oil for the tranny?
any help will be very helpfull.
thanks
tony.

ok,
1) drain transmission front drain plug, install new washer tighten 11lbf
2) remove pan, six 10MM headed bolts, replace gasket and clean magnet.
3) three t27 headed bolts holding filter in place, when you remove more oil will come down.
4) make sure when you put the new filter in place, put the two new o-rings in place and
the plactic pickup in place on the filter first.
5) install filter tighten three bolts 6lbf
6) installed pan with new gasket and tighten 10MM bolts no torque given in book.
7) plug facing front on transmission remove and replace washer.
8) fill transmission with atf till it starts to come out fill hole, replace plug finger tight.
9) start engine and move selector through all gear position WITH FOOT ON BRAKE,
10) place transmission in park, with hand brake on.
11) remove the hand tightened front facing plug fill the transmission till a 2mm bead of
transmission fluid comes out with the engine running.
12) tighten plug to 22lbf
13) shut off engine
14) clean and check for leaks, exhaust is HOT.
hope this helps

thanks all for your replys.
I will do exactly what raid13 tells me step by step.
Disco mike,
at this time I want to do transmission service. The engine had service no to long ago.
I do want to service the brakes in the near future like replacing brake pads and changing brake fluid. that will be my next project.
I do have the 3 amigos light issue at this moment(TC,Brake, and don,t remember what the other one is at this moment) they told me that has to be fixed at the dealer only.
Is this correct? do you know a way I can get this issue fixed? without going to the dealer?
anyway thanks all for your help. this forum is very helpfull.
tony.

Any good Rover shop can do the ABS, just need to find a shop that can read the codes.
Don't take it to the dealer and after having the codes read, write down the fault numbers and have them cleared, if they come back, and only then if the codes are the same, then look at replacing the parts.
As for your services,m go down my list that someone already posted and do everything that has not been done in the last 10,000 miles and you will have a happy truck.
