Default Transmission froze!?! Literally

So have not driven the Disco for a couple days. I'm usually pretty good about starting it everyday specially when it's cold out. Left it two days without starting. Today got in it and needed to jump it, new battery not even a year ago. Anyways it was definitely strained while turning over. Finally fired and M and S lights flashing and would only go in drive. Sounded like ice was on my transmission. Pulled in garage let it warm up for couple hours. Went back started it up and all back to Normal. Weird.

Probably moisture in the xyz switch froze up. Once warm, it corrected itself. Sounds to me like the xyz switch is on the way out and the cold uncovered it. Good luck!

I had the exact same thing happen to me today.... Hadn't driven it in about a week and it was slow turning over. 20 something degrees outside.

I attributed it to a low battery voltage, which I think can be one of the causes of Limp Mode...

I don't think it was the xyz switch as I just changed it last month with a known good one...

Very true. Low voltage could cause the limp mode. He also said it would only go into Drive. That could be the xyz acting up as well.

I didn't have any issues, it was 5 degrees here when we moved our truck to get groceries. I did notice the ps pump was noisy, but only for about 5 minutes.
