And, if 14+ year old high beam/fog lights are a problem, then so should all of the blinding factory HIDs of recent years. They are as blinding as HIDs in the non HID lenses.

Oh, they're not the factory lights. I'd compare the amp draw on the factory ones before running those on factory wires. And I wouldn't use those on the road or you'll get pulled over.

If it were me I would wire these up properly to an AUX fuse panel with proper wiring and a cruise control switch. Weatherpack connector for quick disconnect.

I have tested them out using the existing fog light wiring, connectors, and switch. All is good.
