Yes the the blue bag special is crap. I had a leak 6 months later and the lip was almost missing when I removed it.

Got everything out (see picture) However, I also pulled a bearing out, seems like a little bit of play in the bearing. Should I replace??

Yea that happens to me, Did you check there eBay store? Shipping is free there

 

I could not find it on the eBay site. Plus, I am not cool with that type of behavior so I buy from the UK and international shipping was cheaper.

I like lucky8 but, I will not do business with a company that charges that much for an item that could fit in an envelope

 

I have been going to the UK lately and it is faster and cheaper. Blows my mind that they do that, but I feel the same way about lucky8.

 

I just had that same leak, though I also had leaks out every hole in the TC and the same leak on the front diff. Lots of deferred maintenance I know... And I've been busy so I didn't mind paying a shop just to get it all done in one day. The only thing still good on my rig was the rear drive shaft U Joint, which oddly of course is serviceable. Had to even get a new used parking brake drum as apparently oil leaking from the TC went into the brake drum and made a mess of things... I hadn't noticed any issues with the parking brake but I also haven't been coasting down any long hills with no power...

Good on you for getting er done yourself... I thought about it but ehh,.. might as well get it right and ready for the summer mountain driving season, right!

Personally I've never paid shipping at Lucky8 and things get here fast from them, I only ever call in to order... never ebay or online. And of course the discount and no sales tax... Shhhh

 

Any thoughts on flushing the rear diff? I was thinking of buying some cheap diff oil and over fill the diff, rotate wheels by hand and drain

 

UPDATE

I am stuck again. I need to get the grease seal out of the rear driveshaft and replace. How does one do this or rather what is the trick?
