Default Trouble starting

My wife has a 02 disco and it is hard to start at times. Some days it starts on the first crank and then it may take three attempts to start it. It has 135,*** on it and runs perfect other than the cranking issue. Before I let her take it to the dealer to take all my money I thought I would ask here first for suggestions as to what might be causing this propblem. Anyone?

CKP (crank position sensor) starting to fail? More often does this when engine hot also. You can buy a spark tester for under $10 that you touch to a plug wire to see if there is spark. If no spark, usually the CKP. Could also be fuel pump/filter related, they are all in the tank together. testing fuel pressure is not so easy, test port is under back driver corner (NAS) of top intake manifold.
