Default Trouble with transmission fitting new engine

Hi guys, I am placing a fully restored engine on a 2000 D2, but I'm having so much trouble making my engine fit into the transmission. The crankshaft and torque converter are already lined up and conected, but it wont go all the way in and I have a huge gap between the transmission and engine block on the lower part. I am following the procedure of this video https://youtu.be/eUFcRzTS3wQ and I have a load leveler and and floor jack to make everything easier, but nothing seems to help. I already placed the top 4 bolts that connects the transmission to the engine, but the gap is still bad underneath. Am I doing something wrong? Any tips? Would the gap close ones I mount the engine on the motor mounts?
Any help would be really appreciated... it's driving me nuts to be so close to finish my proyect and been stuck with that
Thanks.

Check if you have a dowel pin in both the engine side and transmission side, one needs to come out. Can remove with a vice grips

I never put bolts in until the whole assembly is together it may cause it to bind.

Also, can you take the converter off and put it all the way on the shaft easily?

The converter thing is very important, if it is not fully seated you can easily damage the front pump by trying to force it. Many people have blown their trans by not seating it fully before putting the engine in.

The torque convertor is all the way in the transmission, but maybe the angle of the engine is not right. I will take more pictures today of how it looks like.
Thank you for the help.
