Truck won't start after Heater Core and Head Gasket replacement

Okay guys so i called up a local mechanic who only does Discoveries. He told me to try and start it in neutral. The truck started but still died out like before.
Now just a few minutes ago. I tried the unlock and lock 3 times, but this time I actually put the key in the door instead of using the button. The truck starts now, it still stalls out but the engine sounds much smoother now and I just got a code. Will have it scanned and ill report back.

Alright well the scanner isn't picking up the codes. I saw the SES light flash and stay on at start up but apparently there are no codes. Additionally, I can smell gasoline on the passenger side of the engine compartment right around the vacuum pump(like precisely there).

Also. In the engine fuse box I think I've found a burned out fuse link. FL6... The diagram on the box says to refer to the manual but the manual does not talk about the fuse links.
I'm not sure if these work the same as fuses, where the metal(or in this case copper) is broken when it is bad but this fuse link clearly looked grey and smokey where the other fuse links look bright copper. Any thoughts? What does FL6 control? Does it say in RAVE?

Okay so the Discovery now runs! I don't think I'm in the clear yet but to fill everyone in...
When I last posted the coil packs were replaced and I still had the same symptoms. Tried to keep the engine running to see if a code could be thrown. While that was happening I started to notice white smoke from the exhaust. Immediately shut her down, checked the oil, milky... Sounded like the head job failed but after taking the entire intake assembly off we found that the valley pan gasket was crushed at the passenger side intake ports

, thus coolant getting where its not supposed to. Cleaned out all the coolant I could and spun the engine with the spark plugs and fuel relay removed but no coolant came out.
So the valley gasket has been replaced and the engine now runs but I'm going through my 2nd oil change to get the coolant out. (How many should it take?)
Also, when the truck fired up fine yesterday, idled normally. However it started to squeel like a power steering leak when the throttle was pulled. Some smokeyness was present, possibly from the alternator or other pulleys. I just tried to start her a few minutes ago and it was idling a bit too high (1100-1200 rpm) and the battery light stayed on. I shut her down once I noticed. Does that sound like my alternator has crapped out on me? Coolant level is staying put so far.

Your alternator is jamming.
Either too much current being drawn and the belt can't keep on it.
If the battery is dead from cranking it - put on a battery charger first and then start
it next day.
OR -----
You routed the belt wrong and there is not enough contact surface on the alternator pulley..
High idle could be a vacuum leak.
Or, you did not plug the idle motor back into the harness.
