so my wife recently bought a 99 disco 2 she didn't like the falling headliner and wanted it replaced. When I asked her what she wanted she didn't know, so we went to Joann. that is a fabric store if you don't have them in your area, they sell headliner and about everything else. soo she found this furry material and fell in love. wasn't my idea, but I have a pretty awesome wife and it's her truck. so I'm sure this will draw some criticism, but i still figured I'd share. sorry it was hard to get a good picture from inside the truck.
The areas that look as if they were wrinkled or messed up are just from the "fur" being matter from being stored in a roll.it will relax, after it is vacuumed a couple times. it is stretched tight, well not too tight. but it's even.[IMG]

I glued it with 3m headliner adhesive. the home depot green 3m spray can is also good. if you have never done a headliner, do not try to do it in the car. they are VERY EASY to remove. 1 hour and some patience and you can have the headliner out. I have professionally done headliners in a shop. this is probably my tenth headliner this rover is by far the hardest to get the material to contour to. you really need two people. one person to stretch it and hold it just above the panel. the other person sprays it with glue, and slowly push it into the contours. give the glue plenty of tack time. too long is better than not long enough. joann where I bought my material has all sorts of really cool fabrics. I found some thin tightly woven fleece that mimics the factory headliner. they had it in animal prints, camo, solids, paisleys, I am seriously considering plaid for my ceiling.. but I'll probably stay conservative, and just do a solid

I sorta feel like I should be driving a 70's cady with gold rims and a feather in my hat.. but like I said she loves it and its hers so I'm just glad to have a chick thats as excited about rovers as I am. it is kinda cool though. I think if hers had sunroofs it would even be cooler, cause it would really break it up
