Default Trying to remove transfercase shift ****

I am Trying to remove the transfercase shift **** so I can put a new leather boot on it. Is there a trick to getting it off? It rotates on the shaft but will not pull off.

Thank you,
Willie

You have to pull really hard, and I mean you gotta use everything you got.
Took me a while to get mine off, but it will eventually.

If you mean the HIGH / LOW shifter (transfer case) it unscrews. The TRANMISSION selector **** pulls off.

Actually Humroot wins if we're picking thread winners now.
To the OP, mine did not come off with spinning so I had to pull. If you cant get it to spin off, you may have to pull it.

unscrew as fast as you can and pull as hard as you can. one will eventually work.

I unscrewed the hi-low ****. For some reason I thought it pulled off too. The new leather went on easy. I used 3M high performance contact adhesive, works good on leather.

This is the boot set I used.
