Default u-joints...why

on my '04 are there grease fittings for the front u-joint, yet the rear appear to be the same only w/out fittings. I was doing the 7500 mile intervalservice on my Disco when I noticed this, is there more strain on the front and thus they felt the need for greasable fittings there...or just a stupid LR oversight? In any case, does this mean that both should just be replaced eventually? 53k right now.

I think it's just one of those silly things land rover did. YOu rgonna wanna replace your u-joints at 60K regardless.

You want to replace those greaseless joints YESTERDAY, my set failed at 36,000 miles.
I know two people who have had failures in the last month, BIG BUCKS, $7000 or more if it happens at highway speeds.

What about the rear drive shaft - is that even a problem area at all?

NO, except you need to keep an eye on your rotoflex.
