Default Ultimate Compliment

I pulled in to the Wal-mart parking lot so I could run in and pick up a few little things I wanted for my wheeling trip tomorrow. As I get out of the truck I notice a couple walking by the back of the truck and then I hear the guy say "that's a sweet truck." I know he was talking to the girl with him but it still made me smile to hear that.

I hear that every once and a while and it makes me smile as well. BTW: Walmart is evil and shopping there only helps china in the long run. Walmart is anti union and thanks to their policy of only having a couple full time workers in the store at any point, mostly part timers, we get to pay for their health care with our tax money. THE BIGGEST CORPORATION IN THE WORLD AND MOST OF THEIR EMPLOYEES NEED GOV SUPPORTED HEALTH ASSISTANCE!!!! I never resist a chance to rant about walmart so... sorry to hijack!

One thing is for sure about the LRs, they don't go by unnoticed. A few days ago I went to pick up my daughter at school and a kid walk by and said to me "wow, that is a cool truck dude". I just lifted my eyebrows speechless. (never ever being called "dude" before)

Salve7, I don't believe in conspiracies, but sure as hell there is something going on when you try to get help in Walmart, it is never their section of the store. They walk around with their funny apron that reads "may I help you", what a joke.

My step dad who retired to a small West Texas town started working at Walmart part time in the automotive department and he gets health insurance for him and my mom and it's fairly reasonable for their age. He likes working there and supplements his retirement income. Unions? Why do you think GM is in such a quandry? Legacy healthcare costs dictated by the union. They do have Seafoam for $6.47 a can...

i dont really ever get the "nice truck" comments... since mine looks like something that was discarded after some camel trophy test runs... i do get asked if i am going on safari or goin catch crocs or something like that, to which my answer is normally yes...

i even mounted a seat on my roof rack to better shoot wildlife on the run... the whole hangin out the window thing wasnt workin out...

I knew I shouldn't have mentioned wal-mart. Truth be told I hate wal-mart but I also hate having to go the 3 different stores to get what I need instead of one.

I know people who have been employees of walmart for years and love it so I guess to each their own! My dad has always said he is going to retire and become a greeter. I just think america needs to think more about why the prices are so low and look at the companies/ farmers that have been put out of buisness because of their practices. There is more wrong than right in my opinion. Back to topic though, I was out doing some mild wheeling last year and had a family stop and watch as I went through a creek and up a big hill. When I got to them they were very generous with the compliments and said it looked like a comercial (I had 7 crazy folks with me hanging out the windows and what-not) I never got that with my jeep cherokee!
BTW: Once you get used to not shopping there its not as bad as you would think. I haven't bought a thing there in 3 years and actually feel better not having to battle the crowds and all that. If you hate it, don't go.

We also avoid Wal-Mart at all costs, we only shop there when I need motor oil (Mobil 1 5 qt jug for $26) and when we are in ******* MI as that is the only grocery store...hell, its the only store.

I hate having to stand in line because they only have 3 of 30 check stands open. I could care less about their business practices. It does not effect me personally.

We've completed missed the point of the thread. Whether I was at wal-mart, target or a mom and pop grocery store it still felt good to hear someone else liked my truck.
