Ultimate Compliment
I love going to this one Shell station down the road from me because the owner absolutly loves the disco! He always has a new question about it and I love answering, and sometimes people behind me over hear and ask more questions, I just LOVE it. Not many vehicles can strike up conversation but the disco is a king at it!
and on the Wal-Mart thing, everyone forgets how much GOOD they do. Think about it, Wal-Mart's low-price policy benefits the poor, who can now afford products that would be out of their reach but not for Wal-Mart, improving their lives and raising their standard of living. Also, Wal-Mart, all by itself, was responsible for a significant amount of the productivity miracle we have seen in this country over the last decade. Wal-Mart has a substantial effect on reducing the rate of inflation (almost 15% per year). Ignoring these beneficial macroeconomic effects, critics, such as you guys, focus almost exclusively on the loss of jobs allegedly caused by Wal-Mart. However, research contradicts this point, finding that Wal-Mart permanently raises local employment. What else else... Oh yes, Wal-Mart gives back MILLIONS to local communities each year. Now all that being said, and I know much more (did a HUGE project on it), I still think if you can support the mom and pop shops you absolutly should. 9 times out of 10 you'll get better service and less crowds. But wishing failure upon Wal-mart, would be like asking our economy to fail as well. </rant>

My girlfriend works at Wal-Mart. She works at the service desk, doing returns, cashing checks, and things like that.
Now tell me...how many people got laid off last year, last month, last week, today?
My girlfriend is getting bonuses, and is due for another one next month, so BULL**** about it being a bad place to work. It's how the individual stores are being run by the individual managers that make them good/bad.

X2 on that, a snorkel would be amazing to have, but paying for college comes first for me.... I would imagine you would get some crazy questions about having a snorkel, especially from the people who dont know what it is and try to guess. haha
Since we here in the states are cursed with no diesel option the snorkel is mainly for looks and dusty roads more than water crossings. It will definitely turn heads in a parking lot. On a D1 especially, if the water is deep enough to get sucked into the stock air box your ECU is under water and you're screwed anyways. I have thought about finding a second ECU for cheap and having it waterproofed as an experiment to see if actually works but I don't want to sacrifice my original ECU in case it doesn't work.
just felt like joining the walmart thread (what, this thread isn't about walmart?) I remember watching a great documentary about walmart maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It touched every subject that makes them evil from putting mom and pops out (sometimes running all stores out of small towns) to there strong labor rules and regulations. I learned how they have an interesting way of dealing with the companies that make the products they sell (they basically tell them they will sell the product for less than the competition and make the same profit and if the company doesn't like it they wont sell there product, the numbers almost always win, however there are a few products that tell walmart to go screw themselves) anyways I don't so much agree with there tactics but I do know one thing, there tactics obviously work which is why in a suffering economy they are shining bright!
and on a side note the reason they have 30 lanes and only open 4 or 5 at a timeis cause when they become our nations ONLY retailer, they will need that many lanes! they are just getting ready.

I didnt book mark it.
But dont forget that if you get your coils wet you are also toast.
I too have been debating a snorkel, it would finish off the looks of my truck when it is all said and done, but I dont know if I want one that bad, it might be the last thing that I buy for my truck...wait...the last thing?
