Ultra Gauge question!--default/baseline levels for Land Rover
After seeing rave reviews here on the Forum, I just received my new Ultra Gauge EM in the mail today. I successfully cleared my "Service Engine Soon" light, which I needed to do to pass state emissions test to renew my plates on the truck.
Now I want to do some diagnostics and have some fun with it. Looks like it will be much help.
Is there a link or a post that gives default/baseline levels for a 2003 Discovery for all categories in Ultra Gauge? I know there is some baseline levels for all vehicles in the Ultra Gauge manual, but they are general ranges.

Each truck will be slightly different. IAT is incoming air temp, should be air temp under hood. Coolant temp is inside the water jacket of the intake, should be room temp when trcuk cold (what ever the temp is in the garage), and warm up, the thermostat starts to open at 180F and is full open at 204F. Electric fan comes on at 212F to boost cooling in traffic. So one would think that some where in 190's would be could cruising down the road a 50 mph. But if at 225, reason to check further. O2 sensor readings sre suposed to change some faster than others, but not be static. Open loop means ECU is using pre-set values to control the fuel flow, based on TPS angle, etc. Will do this as warming up, and I believe also if wide open throttle is goosed, as emission rules may allow control to be relaxed in that condition. Closed loop means fuel flow is being controlled by the ECU based on O2 sensors and other sensor inputs, for best fuel mpg and minimum pollution of your little fragment of the atmosphere. For an explanation of the sensors, the expected ranges before codes are generated, etc. see attachment in my signature about D2 Bosch Engine Management, start with the single brief guide, then there is a three parter with more details.
They are all going to be different, there is a acceptable range that each and every manufacture sets parameters for for each sensor, what you are going to need to do is set your own baseline and then pay attention and notice if/when your truck gets out of its own normal range.
If you try to get your truck to match someone else's you will go crazy and set it on fire before you ever get it to match.
Things change as engines wear, and each and every engine has worn differently.

After playing around with mine and having for a wee bit now i personally only have it set to one page with the infomation that I want to see. Personally i dont need to know what the O2 sensors are doing or alot of the other peramiters until they go wrong so I have mine set to Temp, instant MPG, average MPG, RPM, oil milage and intake temp. SWMBO calls it my panic gauge and the only down side is that she can see the great MPG that I get BUT it means she drives slower now she can see the single digit MPG when she drives...lol
