Ultragauge install question
Hi folks,
A quick question(s) about Ultraguage..
1. Is this a simple "plug and play" device that you can pop in and out of any DII with minimal programming or setup?
2. If so, is it adviseable to bring one of these along whenever test driving a DII prior to purchase?
3. Is the main concern the engine Temp read out? 200 or less is acceptable depending if driving or idle, right?
Thanks,
Frank

Yes you plug it into the obd2 port and wait afew moments for it to load up. It will ask you to into engine liter size and fuel tank liter size. Only takes about 5 minutes or less to fully install. Bringing it with you is a good idea because not only can you check the engine temp but also see any check engine codes AND any pending codes.
My truck idels at 217 with original thermostat and old cooling hoses and a full load in the rear. I have 133k on my Disco. Id say anything under 212 should be OKAY. Sometimes the temp may fluctuate and it varies from truck to truck. While your there check the engine bay and under the truck for any signs of coolant leaks or burnt oil.
