What kind of pre-programming option should one choose if using with an '02 Disco?

None. The D2 doesn't have any "special" pre-programmed guage sets.

Just buy the basic ultraguage.

Ultragauge is great, buts a less expensive gadget exists and have used on my 04 D2. Bought the Vgate bluetooth plug in OBD scan tool and it works great. Alot cheaper. $7.00 ebay. Download turbo app to ur tablet and pairs niclely. Able to drive down road with no wires hanging below dash, and tablet displays live feed any setting you want as it rests in the passenger seat. See it on you tube. Just recently helped me with high coolant temp issue, as it displayed live temp and its fluctuations up and down on my Surface 3 Tablet. Too cool!

I agree with you but I've found that those apps absolutely schlep the battery from my phone. I personally use the Torque App paired with the BT Dongle that fits in the OBDII. I've settled on getting the UG since it's displayed on it's own little guy. Nice.

Thought about the bluetooth version, but I also worry about another app to take up hard drive space and use juice from the battery on my phone. I also like the idea of my gauge just always being in the truck and always ready to go. I'm planning on buying mine this next pay day.

Default UG

Dosent seem to use much juice, not tried on my smart phone just my tab. If batts an issue plug into power source. Havent tried UG but comes highly recom by my columbus mech. Had other version first. So far so good. Do have to agree that the live feed on window mount is neat, but can do same with mine and no cables. Just sayn.
