Uneven disc brakes

Yes, the all the rotors are original. One of the mechanics told me that the pads are thin and are due for replacement soon.
One of the mechanics told me that I can have it "machined" to level the surface?

since we are on the subject of pads and rotors has any one seen drilled rotors that would fit a 2002 d2. i have bigger rims so i figured i need some better braking power. also how often should the pads be changed?

You DO NOT want to have your rotors machined. Especially with over 100k miles on them. Being original, they are likely at their service limit already. Even new rotors shouldn't be turned because it will remove too much of the rotor. DBA makes drilled and slotted rotors, but having bigger wheels doesn't require the use of better brakes.
